How it works
From work to wallet in four steps
Set up your payment method
When you accept your first engagement, choose how you'd like to be paid. You can change your payment method anytime from your dashboard. The platform will recommend the best option for your country based on speed, cost, and local infrastructure.
Work and track your time
For hourly engagements, log your hours through the platform. For fixed-rate engagements, time tracking is optional but available. Milestones and deliverables are tracked in the engagement record. Every hour is documented for the audit trail.
Settlement every Friday
Every Friday, the platform settles all active engagements for that week. Your payment is calculated, any statutory deductions (for EOR employees) are applied, and the net amount is sent through your chosen payment rail. You receive a detailed settlement statement breaking down every component.
Payment arrives
Depending on your payment rail, funds arrive within 1-3 business days of settlement. Stripe Connect and mobile money are typically fastest (often same-day or next-day). Bank transfers vary by country — SEPA is usually next-day, SWIFT can take 2-3 days, and local clearing systems vary.
Payment rails
Four ways to receive your pay
Bank transfer
Direct to your local bank account, in your local currency where supported. The default for most countries with developed banking infrastructure. SWIFT for international transfers where local rails aren't available.
Supports local currency in 50+ countries. Where local currency settlement isn't available, USD or EUR transfer with competitive exchange rates. Local clearing systems include ACH (US), SEPA (Europe), NEFT/RTGS (India), BACS/Faster Payments (UK), NPP (Australia), SPEI (Mexico), and PIX (Brazil).
Most countries with established banking
Stripe Connect
Fast payout to a linked debit card or bank account, typically within 1-2 business days of the weekly settlement. Available in 46+ countries. Particularly useful if you already have a Stripe account for other freelance work.
Stripe handles the currency conversion and local compliance. You see the payout in your local currency. Stripe's exchange rates are typically better than bank wire rates. Available in most of North America, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and Brazil.
46+ countries with card-based payout support
Wise (formerly TransferWise)
Low-cost international transfer using the real mid-market exchange rate, not a marked-up bank rate. Wise typically saves 3-6x on conversion costs compared to traditional banks. Useful when your bank's own international rates are poor or when you hold multiple currencies.
Wise operates in 170+ countries and supports 50+ currencies. You can hold balances in multiple currencies and convert when rates are favourable. The Wise debit card lets you spend directly from your multi-currency wallet without conversion fees.
Cross-border transfers, multi-currency holders
Mobile money and local rails
Sokin and regional payment rails for markets where card networks and SWIFT transfers don't reach well. This includes M-Pesa in East Africa, GCash in the Philippines, Orange Money in West Africa, MTN Mobile Money in Uganda, and Wave in Senegal.
Over 1.75 billion people globally use mobile money as their primary financial account. In Kenya, 83% of the adult population uses M-Pesa. In the Philippines, GCash has over 90 million users. These rails ensure workers can receive payment without needing a traditional bank account.

The zero-fee commitment
You always receive 100% of the agreed rate
Corpshore charges the business that hires you. The fee never comes out of your pay. This is a permanent, structural commitment — not a promotional rate that reverts, not a tiered discount that shrinks as you earn more.
For context: Upwork charges a 10% service fee (previously up to 20% on a sliding scale). Fiverr charges 5.5% on every order. Freelancer.com charges 10% or $5, whichever is greater. These fees come directly out of the worker's payment. On Corpshore Work, the business pays the platform fee, and you receive the full agreed rate — every single time.
On $100,000 of annual earnings, that's $10,000+ back in your pocket compared to Upwork, or $5,500+ compared to Fiverr. Over a 5-year career, the difference compounds to $50,000-100,000 in retained earnings.

Payment infrastructure that reaches everyone
Access to international work shouldn't depend on having a bank account in a SWIFT-connected institution. The platform's payment rails are designed to reach workers wherever they are.
1.4 billion adults worldwide are unbanked
The World Bank estimates that 1.4 billion adults globally don't have a bank account. But many of them do have mobile phones — and mobile money accounts. By supporting M-Pesa, GCash, Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money, and Wave as payment rails, Corpshore Work ensures that access to international work doesn't depend on having a traditional bank account.
Cross-border payment costs average 6.2%
The World Bank tracks the global average cost of sending $200 across borders: it's 6.2% as of 2024. Banks charge even more — an average of 11.8% for remittances. The platform's payment rails (Wise, Stripe Connect, and local clearing) are designed to minimize these costs. Wise uses the real mid-market rate. Local clearing avoids SWIFT intermediary fees entirely.
Payment delays are the #1 freelancer complaint
Payoneer's Global Freelancer Survey consistently finds that late payments and payment uncertainty are the top complaints among international freelancers. Net-30, net-60, and milestone-based payment structures leave workers waiting weeks or months for money they've already earned. Weekly settlement with guaranteed payment — regardless of whether the client has paid their invoice — eliminates this entirely.
Questions, answered
Payment questions
Do I really keep 100% of my agreed rate?+
Yes. Corpshore Work charges the business that hires you, never you. The 0% worker fee is permanent — not a promotional rate. For contractor-of-record engagements, you receive the full agreed rate. For EOR (employee) engagements, statutory deductions (income tax, social contributions) are applied as required by local law — these are the same deductions any employer would make, not a platform fee.
Can I get paid in my local currency?+
In 50+ countries, yes — the platform settles directly in local currency through local clearing systems. Where local currency settlement isn't available, payment is in USD or EUR. If you use Wise, you can hold the balance and convert when rates are favourable. Mobile money payouts are always in local currency.
What if I have engagements with multiple clients?+
All your engagements settle on the same Friday cycle. You receive one payment per payment rail per week (or separate payments if your engagements use different rails). Your dashboard shows a breakdown by engagement, with hours logged, rate applied, and any deductions itemized.
What about tax? Does Corpshore handle withholding?+
For EOR (employee) engagements, yes — income tax, social security, and all statutory deductions are calculated and withheld per your country's law. You receive your net pay with a detailed payslip showing every deduction. For contractor-of-record engagements, you receive the gross amount and handle your own tax obligations, as with any contractor relationship. The platform provides payment records and year-end summaries for your tax filings.
What happens if a client doesn't pay?+
Corpshore settles your payment regardless of whether the client has paid their invoice. The payment risk sits with Corpshore, not with you. Your weekly settlement is guaranteed for active engagements. This is one of the most significant differences from freelance marketplaces, where your payment depends entirely on the client releasing funds.
Can I change my payment method mid-engagement?+
Yes. You can switch payment methods from your dashboard at any time. The change takes effect from the next weekly settlement. There's no penalty or fee for switching. If you're moving to a new country, the platform will recommend the best payment rail for your new location.
Are there any hidden fees on the payment itself?+
Corpshore doesn't charge you any payment processing fees. However, your bank or mobile money provider may charge their own receiving fees or currency conversion fees. Wise is typically the cheapest option for cross-border transfers (mid-market rate, transparent fee). Mobile money providers charge nominal fees (typically 0-1%). We recommend checking with your provider about their receiving fees.
How do I track my payments and earnings?+
Your dashboard shows a complete payment history: every engagement, every settlement, every payment with full transaction detail. You can export records for tax filing in multiple formats (CSV, PDF). The system generates year-end summaries for jurisdictions that require them, and for EOR employees, produces payslips and tax certificates.
What currencies are supported?+
The platform supports payments in 50+ currencies through a combination of local clearing systems, Stripe Connect (46+ countries), and Wise (50+ currencies). The most common currencies are settled locally: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, BRL, MXN, INR, SGD, JPY, PHP, NGN, KES, ZAR, and AED. For other currencies, Wise provides competitive conversion from USD or EUR.
What if I'm in a country with currency controls?+
Some countries (e.g., Nigeria, Egypt, Argentina) have currency controls that affect how foreign currency can be received and converted. The platform routes payments through compliant channels in these jurisdictions. Your country page has specific guidance on payment rails and any local restrictions. In practice, our payment partners have established compliant pathways in every country where we operate.
